Basics of Inheritance Law
This course is designed to teach a Muslim living in the US the importance of the science of inheritance. Students will learn the basics of distributing a deceased individual’s inheritance Islamically, in terms of conditions and eligible inheritors. They will also learn the virtues and basic rulings of a wasiyya (will). The goal of the course is not to make the student able to calculate the inheritance of a deceased individual themselves, rather they will be able to take what they learn and prepare their own estate or the estate of another individual with the assistance and guidance of qualified individuals.
